Native Americans used this herb for cough and bronchial problems, it works well without negative side effects. The flowers are really wonderful for this. This plant can also be used to create gray dyes. If you pick your own, as I do, the leaves will cause a mild contact skin irritation. I generally forget to wear long sleeves. These will bloom the 2nd season.
