Latin Name: Melissa officinalis
This is a wonderful plant, related to mint. It has a delicate lemon scent and has been said to have good anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. It is most commonly used to treat the herpes virus, including chicken pox.
This herb makes a calming tea and is fantastic in the bath. Nothing like lemon balm tea with a hot lemon balm bath!
