Catnip is a member of the mint family.  Catnip is well known for its behavorial effects on cats.  It does have medicinal  effects on humans as well.  It is thought to be calming to the nervous system and the stomach.   It has also been reputed to prevent miscarriage and premature birth.  If you don't have cats buy some for yourself, as it is not just for cats.
